daab supports NY-LON 2024!

daab is pleased to continue its support for HomeGrown Plus and their NY-LON initiative. NY-LON  (New York-London) is a travel program supporting Part I and Part II Architecture students from Non-Traditional backgrounds. This invaluable program is in its third year running and is a way to assist students build confidence and reignite/refocus their passion for architecture and the creative industries.

NY-LON takes students to NYC for a nine-day immersive exploration of the built environment and create a studio without walls. The students study historic references, cultural influences, social, and sustainable issues. They learn from design professionals about the obstacles they have faced, and how they have dismantling them.

daab believe strongly that travel is a vital part of in an Architect’s development providing invaluable understanding of scale, proportion, spatial quality, etc. Travel is a tool for learning, an awakening of the mind and an opening of the heart. NY-LON provides travel opportunities for those students who would normally not have the opportunity to do so.

In addition to Dennis’ role as Managing Director for HomeGrown Plus he takes the academic lead in creating the NY-LON educational theme and provides daily sketching and walk/talk sessions on the NY-LON trip. Keep an eye out for this year’s posts for our upcoming July NY-LON trip!

We ask that if you can afford to do so, please support HomeGrown Plus NY-LON and click on the Donate. On behalf of the students, we thank you!
