Voice before vision: assemble the voices then create the change.

daab is part of a collaboration of local creatives selected as part of the London Festival of Architecture and LB Wandsworth’s design competition to reimagine Battersea’s Falcon Road Bridge.

From over 80 entries, the team was selected as one of seven teams to submit a design proposal. “Voice b4 Vison” is a collaboration of local Wandsworth based architects, architectural students, artists, and engineers keen to be part of an impactful change for the Clapham Junction area.

Change often alienates, but it doesn’t have to… Our approach addresses the alienation currently felt by many residents local to the Winstanley & York Road developments who feel they have very little influence on the future of their neighbourhood.

We’ve listened to over 150 residents, prioritised their concerns and invited them to co-design events to initiate design ideas. We have created a four-week program for year seven and year nine students at the Graveney School and St. John Bosco College discussing how spaces work, designing solutions and empowering them on the importance of spatial awareness.

We’ve responded with a scheme that puts the money where the people are by creating an acoustic treated covered walkway. We call it a cocoon that protects and invites through soft programmable lighting that will respond to seasonal changes, artistic installations, and cultural events reflecting Wandsworth's diverse cultural heritage.
