Lime Lady House starts on site.

Construction work is underway at Lime Lady House. The site falls on the historic route linking Clapham to the City and the project makes its own connection, between 19th century London and the present day.

The project uses sustainable, natural materials to complement the original fabric of the building. Window and door frames are constructed from a solid piece of timber. Windows are triple glazed and an insulating layer of lime cork improves the thermal performance of the building, harmonising with the original swept plasterwork.

The project takes a subtractive approach to bring something extraordinary to the inside of the building, forming new openings to introduce a new way of perceiving space. Clever reuse is made of existing elements within the house including cabinetry, light fittings and tiles, adopting circular economy principles to minimise waste sent to landfill.
