Airport Expansion
Creating a vision which will adapt over time and respond to the ever changing needs of the transport sector.
Creating a positive influence on the built environment at macro and micro scales is important to us. Often this is in the form of an association with other practices. Our involvement in the expansion of London’s largest airport is an example of our collaborative nature.
Invited by the Client to join the Grimshaw led IDT we were tasked to inject design direction and provide campus master planning strategies. We start by looking at the short, mid and long term goals of the project to tease out any potential misalignment within the Client body.
We understand design intricacies on complex infrastructure projects and lead by example, ensuring a balance of issues directed at maintaining vision. This means teasing out issues early in concept stage and working upstream within the design team. Our role is one of “pathfinder” within a large structure, working seamlessly as a team to provide design excellence.
